Painter's Cotton Threads let the fibers of this
miraculous flower come alive in colorful shine!
Cotton is a vegetable fiber, for needlework threads mostly coming from Egypt. Egyptian Cotton has long fibers, making threads very strong and taking the color very well.
There is mercerised cotton (a chemical process to make cotton take the colors much better and add some shine) and raw cotton. This has a light to medium beige color and does not take colors very good. If you use mercerised cotton (shiny) and non-mercerised cotton (matte) in one project you can get a great effect, even though it is "just cotton".
